“Light shall shine out of darkness.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
FELLOWSHIP
In the book of Acts, chapter 2, we read that the early church devoted itself to “fellowship”. Fellowship was one of their objectives. Some people describe this word by saying that it’s like having “Two fellows in the same ship!” God wants His people to be close, to be a family, while working together like a well oiled machine. In fact, the Bible says that the church is like a body that has all of its parts working together effectively. In 1st Corinthians 12, it says, “Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.” Fellowship takes spending time together… working together… getting to know each other…
The Rochester church of Christ fellowship includes getting together to study the Bible, getting to know each other, worshipping the LORD together, sharing the LORD’s supper, singing, praying, eating together, laughing, encouraging and serving one another, and spurring each other on to love and good deeds.
Philippians 2 says,
“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose…”
